Should commentators always remain impartial?

The BBC has admitted commentary for the Women's snowboard final during the Winter Olympics was over-excited after 300 people complained.

Viewers complained that commentators cheered when a rival to Team GB's Jenny Jones fell, and that the commentary was of a low standard.

So should patriotism and passion in sports commentary always be kept to a minimum?

BBC Radio 5 live's Dan Walker put the question to veteran sports commentators Henry Blofield and Barry Davies.
