Scottish independence referendum: Salmond and Cameron claim North Sea oil benefits

The North Sea oil industry's role in an independent Scotland will be discussed on Monday, as the UK and Scottish cabinets hold separate meetings in the Aberdeen area.

The meetings coincide with a major report on the oil and gas industry.

Prime Minister David Cameron said the oil and gas industries would be best served by Scotland remaining in the UK.

Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond said independence would bring "enormous" benefits to the sector.

Catriona Renton reports.
