Victim: 'Emotional abuse is worse than anything else'

A proposed law, which would make "emotional cruelty" a criminal offence, has been backed by a woman who said she was abused as a child.

"Susan" said she was physically and sexually abused by her foster family but the emotional cruelty she suffered caused the most long term damage.

She told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast, "They never once cuddled me, they never once told me they loved me... that has by far been the worse abuse that I suffered."
