The papers: Thursday's front pages

Political commentator Daisy McAndrew and Simon Watkins, City editor at the Mail on Sunday, cast their eyes over the papers for the BBC News Channel.

They began by discussing the Sun's coverage of the current pollution alert across the country, before moving on to the Times's lead story that David Cameron is being pressed to bar Scottish constituencies from taking part in the 2015 general election if Scotland votes for independence.

The pair then moved on to the Guardian's front page which reports that from 2017, GCSE grades will be "pegged" to the results of Chinese schoolchildren.
