Oxfam: 'Buy one get one free' deals cause food waste
Oxfam has criticised "buy one get one free" supermarket deals, claiming that they encourage consumers to waste food.
It comes after a report by the the House of Lords European Union Committee found the UK was throwing away 15 million tonnes of food a year.
Mark Lawson, Oxfam's Head of Policy, said foods should be made cheaper across the board.
He told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "You've got this crazy system where some of it is being given away and then often ends up getting wasted and the rest of food is far too expensive."
