PC Blakelock killing: Jacobs 'overwhelmed after ordeal'

A man cleared of killing PC Keith Blakelock in the 1985 Tottenham riots was too "overwhelmed" by his experience to attend a planned press conference, according to his solicitor.

Nicky Jacobs, 45, was found not guilty on Wednesday of the murder and manslaughter of the officer - who was stabbed 43 times at Broadwater Farm.

Solicitor Tony Meisels told journalists, "he's obviously emotional, he's relieved to be over this ordeal".
