The papers: Friday's front pages

Angela Knight, chief executive of trade organisation Energy UK, and the Independent of Sunday's chief political correspondent, John Rentoul, review the papers for the BBC News Channel.

They began with the coverage of former Commons deputy speaker Nigel Evans's acquittal of sex charges, before moving on to the Daily Express's front-page story about a mini-EU referendum in Northamptonshire.

The pair then examined a story in the Independent which says officials have dramatically underestimated net migration because official statistics did not properly take into account passengers arriving at airports other than Manchester and London's Heathrow and Gatwick.
