Leeds teacher stabbing: West Yorkshire police statement

A female teacher has been stabbed to death in front of other pupils at Corpus Christi Catholic College in east Leeds.

The 61-year-old victim, who the BBC understands was Spanish teacher Ann Maguire, was taken to hospital, but later died.

A 15-year-old pupil was detained by teaching staff and later arrested.

Chief Superintendent Paul Murray of West Yorkshire Police made a statement at the school.
