Murdered Essex student Nahid Almanea killed in 'savage attack'

Essex Police have described the murder of a 31-year-old university student near an Essex nature reserve as "a brutal and savage attack."

Saudi Arabian national Nahid Almanea had been in the UK for less than a year and was studying at the University of Essex. She was found on Tuesday, having been stabbed 16 times.

Det Chief Supt Steve Worron appealed for members of the public with any suspicions about who could be involved to come forward.
