Police manhunt in Widegates for 'armed' Derrel Weaver

Police in Cornwall are involved in an armed hunt for a man they fear might be carrying a gun.

Officers want to speak to Derrel Weaver, of Higher Widlake Farm, Widegates, near Looe, following a "domestic" incident on Thursday night.

In a statement, Superintendent Jim Pearce warned members of the public not to approach 60-year-old Mr Weaver.

"There are currently significant enquiries on going to locate Mr Weaver, and this includes the chance he may be in possession of a firearm", he added.

The nearby Trenode Church of England Primary School has been closed as a precaution.
