Bristol seeks park duty volunteers

Councils are being forced to tighten their belts and now, for the first time, one local authority has said it will have to find volunteers to help look after its parks and green spaces.

Bristol City Council said it must cut its budget for parks by 20%, so will need help with grass-cutting, litter-picking and other maintenance work on the city's 5,500 acres of green space.

Jon Kay reports.
