Man Utd fans 'appalled' over MK Dons win

Louis van Gaal's miserable start to life as Manchester United boss has continued with a Capital One Cup shock at the hands of League One MK Dons.

Playing in the second round for the first time in 19 years, United were mauled by an energetic and clinical performance from the side two divisions below them, who were playing in front of a crowd of 26,969 - the biggest in their 10-year history.

MK Dons club chairman Pete Winkelman told the Today programme's Jonathan Legard it was "one of those moments in your life that you will never forget".

However, sports editor of the Manchester Evening News Peter Spencer said it was "not a good morning" for the city, describing the match as "absolutely appalling".

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 27th August
