PM sets out scale and scope of terror threat to the UK

The Prime Minister David Cameron has been setting out the scale and scope of the terror threat to the UK.

It comes as the level is raised from "substantial" to "severe" in response to conflicts in Iraq and Syria.

The new alert level means an attack is "highly likely". It is the second highest of five possible threat levels.
