Rotherham child abuse: MPs question police and officials

MPs on the Home Affairs Select Committee continue their inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham and the response to localised grooming.

The following people are expected to appear before the committee on Tuesday:

• Chief Constable David Crompton, South Yorkshire Police

• Former Chief Constable Meredydd John Hughes, South Yorkshire Police

  • Martin Kimber, Chief Executive, Rotherham Council

• Joyce Thacker, Strategic Director for Children, Young People and Families, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council

• Shaun Wright, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner

Sir Peter Wanless, NSPCC Chief Executive Officer, and Richard Whittam QC, who were due to give evidence, have been stood down by the committee because of time constraints
