Rights of crime victims guaranteed in law for first time

The rights of victims of crime in England and Wales will be enshrined in law for the first time, the government says.

Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has also set out plans to improve the way victims are treated in court.

The new measures will include providing better information to victims about where they can get support.
