New space weather forecast station opens in Exeter

The Met Office has opened a new centre dedicated to the forecast of the weather in space.

Solar storms can disrupt satellites, power grids and radio communications on earth.

Jonathan Amos spoke to Mike Hapgood, an expert in space weather, at the Met Office headquarters in Exeter.
