Labour proposals to try and increase house-building

First time buyers and local people would be given priority in buying new homes in their area, under Labour proposals to try to increase house-building.

The party wants councils in England to hold back a number of new homes for the first two months after they are built.

And there would be restrictions on people buying the new homes as an investment to then rent out.

Mike Sergeant reports.
