Families are stopping UK jihadists, counter-terrorism chief says

Dozens of UK families have contacted police in a bid to stop their relatives travelling to Syria, Scotland Yard's head of counter-terrorism has said.

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said officers had been "really heartened" having appealed to families this year.
