Emma Smith, 91, recalls the wartime role that women played transporting coal and steel around the canals of England.

She told Sophie Raworth how she asked to get out of her previous "terribly boring job stuck in a stuffy little hut" working for MI5, as she wanted to get outside and help in the war effort.
