Bird flu outbreak 'not threat to food safety,' says Liz Truss

The Environment Secretary Liz Truss has said that a bird flu outbreak at a duck breeding farm in East Yorkshire is not a threat to food safety.

Ms Truss told MPs that although H5 avian flu was highly pathogenic to birds, the risk to public health from this strain was very low.
