Alan Henning: 'A very good friend is gone'

A memorial service is to be held for Alan Henning, the Salford taxi driver murdered by Islamic State militants.

Mr Henning was delivering aid to refugees when he was kidnapped last December.

His widow Barbara says her children are struggling to understand what happened to their father. In a statement she said that the whole family ware very proud of him, and thanked those who had campaigned to save his life.

Roy Molloy drives a taxi in Eccles and had known Alan for more than 20 years. He spoke to reporter Ed Thomas.
