Autumn Statement: 'Colossal' cuts to come, warns IFS

The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) has warned that the Chancellor's spending plans set out in the Autumn Statement would require cuts on a "colossal scale" in order to reduce the UK's deficit to numbers set out.

But George Osborne has insisted that the impact of his proposals has been "exaggerated".
