Arts cuts could mean final chord for Ulster orchestra

With a population of nearly two million, you might expect Northern Ireland to have more than one orchestra.

But despite the Ulster Orchestra being one of a kind, its future is under threat.

Cuts to arts funding mean it needs to find half a million pounds to stop the curtain falling next week for the very last time.
