Welby 'absolutely delighted' with first female bishop

The Archbishop of Canterbury said he was "absolutely delighted" with the selection of the Church of England's first female bishop.

Justin Welby described Libby Lane, who will be come the Bishop of Stockport, as an "extraordinary person".

He said she was "full of humility" and a "fervent disciple of Jesus Christ".
