The papers: Thursday's front pages

Mail on Sunday City editor Simon Watkins and Sunday Times education editor Sian Griffiths joined the BBC News Channel to review Thursday's papers.

They began by discussing the Times's coverage of the thaw in US-Cuban diplomatic relations. The pair then moved on to the Daily Mail's report suggesting that 80,000 British students cannot get a place on nursing courses at a time when the NHS is hiring thousands of foreign nursing staff.

They also discussed the Independent's lead story, which highlights a report describing fears over the future of libraries.
