Lancashire fracking application 'should be refused'

Plans to explore for shale gas at two sites in Lancashire should be turned down, according to council officials.

They say the application by Cuadrilla would generate too much noise and heavy traffic.

But it did say the controversial practice of extracting the gas, known as fracking, was acceptable, in principle.
