Church 'embarrassment' over living wage shortfall

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has admitted it is "embarrassing" that some churches, including in his own diocese, are not paying staff the living wage.

The Church of England has been accused of hypocrisy for failing to pay all its staff at least £7.85 an hour, while calling on other employers to do so.

The archbishop acknowledged it was not the only area where the church "fell short of its standards".

Caroline Wyatt reports.
