Should summer-born children delay school start?

It has long been thought that children who are the oldest in their class have a natural head start at school - while summer babies can struggle to keep up.

Last year the government told parents in England that if their child was born in the summer months, they could ask for them to start a year later, but some now say their requests are not being listened to.
