'All day is empty, what am I going to do with it?'

Creating a "loneliness map" could help target those who are at risk of loneliness.

The suggestion comes in a report from the Campaign to End Loneliness, which says such maps could show where older people are more likely to be at risk.

Studies have suggested loneliness can lead to health problems such as depression and high blood pressure.

After her husband died, Margaret Perry, a widow from Bristol, said she did not know what to do with herself.
