British child dies in French Alps skiing accident
A seven-year-old British child has died in a skiing accident in the French Alps.
The Foreign Office said the accident happened in Flaine, 38 miles north west of Chamonix, on Friday.
French emergency services said the boy had been given permission to do the last descent of the day on his own but had somehow lost his way.
The BBC's Andy Moore says the boy had removed his skis prior to the fall, suggesting he had been trying to walk back down.
