Pilot: ‘I can’t rule out lasers causing airline crash’

Exclusive figures seen by 5 live Daily show there were more than 1,400 reported incidents of lasers being shone at pilots last year, nearly double the number 6 years ago.

Janet Alexander, who is an airline pilot, has been affected by lasers several times in her career. She told Daily's Peter Allen that a potential crash is 'not out of the question.’

She said: "The fact is that at any point a laser, even if it’s off to your peripheral vision, is hazardous. That in itself is inherently dangerous."
