Why some pensioners are £3,000 a year poorer than others
People aged over 75 are on average nearly £3,000-a-year worse off than younger pensioners and need more help from the government.
That's the view of the charity Independent Age, which says nearly a million older pensioners are living below the charity's own definition of the poverty threshold.
