Pte Cheryl James father 'saddened' by suicide verdict
The father of Private Cheryl James, who died from a gunshot wound to the head at Deepcut barracks in Surrey in 1995, says he is "deeply saddened by the conclusions " of the second inquest.
Judge Brian Barker QC recorded a verdict of suicide and said the army had failed in its duty of care to young recruits at the base.
Brigadier John Donnelly, the Army's Head of Personal Services, said a lot of changes had been made to the Army since 1995 and apologised to the James family.
