Police: 'No evidence of explosion' at recycling plant

Five men have lost their lives after a wall collapsed on them at a recycling site in Birmingham.

Police were called to Hawkeswood Metal in the Nechells area of the city shortly before 09:00 BST on Thursday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said emergency services attended the scene but the men were pronounced dead.

Det Supt Mark Payne from West Midlands Police provided this update to reporters.
