Defence budget faces 'perfect storm'

The Royal United Services Institute has told the World at One that the Ministry of Defence may have to find up to £700m a year extra to cover the cost of military equipment following the vote to leave the European Union.

A former head of the navy, Lord West, called it part of a "perfect storm" in a "very dangerous world" because there was already insufficient money in the defence budget.
