Retired weatherman criticises BBC coverage of storms

A former BBC weatherman has criticised modern weather forecasters for naming too many storms and providing "more of an advisory service".

Bill Giles, who retired in 2000, told Radio 4's PM that this would "devalue the currency" meaning people would ignore warnings about really dangerous storms.
