A number of players have complained about the state of the courts at SW19.

Wimbledon's head groundsman, Neil Stubley, has defended the condition of the courts at this year's tournament, after top players including Andy Murray complained about the condition of the grass.

Landscape architect and gardening journalist Bunny Guinness says the weather is to blame. “The high amount of sunshine bleaches the turf and makes it more slippery,” she says.

So what’s her advice? "You just mow it a bit longer, give it a good inch in length, then it can cope much better.”
