'A victory for basic fairness and decency'

John Walker, who has won pension rights for same-sex couples in a case at the Supreme Court, has called on the government to introduce a new law to enshrine the findings.

The former cavalry officer welcomed the ruling and said he and his husband could "now get on with enjoying the rest of our lives together".
