Male BBC stars 'have taken cuts'

The BBC has said that its most highly-paid male presenters could be asked to accept lower wages, as it tries to close the gender pay gap.

Speaking to Kirsty Wark on Newsnight, BBC executive James Purnell said "quite a lot of men" had taken pay cuts already.
