Southwold and Southend beaches dropped from guide

Four beaches on the East Anglian coast have been dropped from the Good Beach Guide because the water is too polluted.

High levels of bacteria were recorded by the Marine Conservation Society on two beaches at Southwold in Suffolk and two at Southend in Essex.

Four others - three at Great Yarmouth in Norfolk and one at West Mersea in Essex - where water quality has improved, have made the guide.
