Ambulance service 'needs transforming' says trust boss
The interim chief executive of the East of England Ambulance Service has admitted that some of the care the trust provides falls below the standard he would expect for his own family.
Andrew Morgan was responding to criticism from staff, patient groups and MPs about poor response times, particularly in rural areas.
He said the service, which serves six counties, was struggling to get to some patients quickly enough.
Mr Morgan said there was still a lot to do but he hoped people would start to notice improvements in the next few months.
