Jade Clark moped death: Brian Hampton jailed

A banned driver who caused the death of a 16-year-old girl in a road crash and then tried to cover up his involvement has been jailed for six years.

Moped rider Jade Clark, from Ringwood, Hampshire, was hit by Brian Hampton on the A31 in Dorset on 24 February.

Hampton, 58, lied to his wife and the garage where he had his car repaired in a bid to avoid detection.

He admitted causing death by careless driving and was found guilty of perverting the course of justice.
