Looking ahead to BBC Children in Need in the East Midlands.
As the East Midlands prepares for BBC Children in Need night on Friday, figures show the region raised more than £1m last year.
The money has gone towards helping 136 projects in the area, with grants totalling £6m.
Projects such as Charnwood 20:20, which helps teenage girls at risk in Loughborough, received almost £87,000 for its scheme.
The Nottingham Photographers' Hub was given almost £90,000 to help young people, some of them homeless.
The biggest slice of the money - about a third - goes to projects dealing with child poverty.
