£2.2bn plans for East Anglia railways unveiled

More space for trains in and out of Liverpool Street will help improve railway services in East Anglia, Network Rail has said.

It is one of the measures announced as part of a £2.2bn investment.

Ageing tracks around Colchester will be replaced and Ely Junction North will be rebuilt.

New tunnels at King's Cross will allow direct services to the South Coast from Cambridge.
