Didcot resident: Power station 'looks like it was never there'

Hundreds of people gathered to watch the demolition of three cooling stations at the disused Didcot A Power Station in Oxfordshire on Sunday morning.

The blast, conducted with more than 180kg of explosives, flattened 36,000 tonnes of material in seconds and was streamed live online.

Didcot resident Kate Hartwright invited 60 of her family and friends over to watch the demolition.

She told BBC Breakfast: "It's quite eerie, in fact it looks like it was never even there."
