The Mercian Regiment marches through Bromsgrove

A British Army regiment has marched through a town at the start of a week-long drive to enlist more soldiers.

Hundreds of people turned out to see The Mercian Regiment in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

The regiment draws recruits from the county, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire.

Last year the government organised a £3m recruitment drive for the armed forces.

BBC Midlands Today's Bob Hockenhull reports.
