Norwich market fire: Two treated after breathing in smoke

Firefighters have stopped a blaze on Norwich Market from spreading to other stalls.

It broke out at a chip stall in the centre of the bustling market just after 09:00 BST.

Two crews attended the scene, where a man and woman were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Gary Davidson, the firefighter in charge, said the crews had used breathing apparatus while putting out the fire.

He said: "The flames were about four feet high, smoke was billowing out the top."
