Injured rescued from Alton Towers Smiler rollercoaster

Emergency crews have been rescuing injured thrill seekers after a crash between two rollercoaster carriages at Alton Towers.

Four teenagers have been seriously hurt in the crash on the Smiler ride.

Sixteen people were in one carriage; the other was empty.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said the four, two girls and two boys, were trapped on the ride, about 25 feet (7.6m) above the ground.
