Crawley boy receives multimillion-pound payout
The family of a seven-year-old boy who suffered severe brain damage after being deprived of oxygen for 20 minutes during birth has been awarded a multimillion-pound compensation payout.
Thomas Hord's parents, Sam and Chris, said he should have been delivered by Caesarean section earlier during his birth at East Surrey Hospital.
The youngster, who lives with his family in Crawley, West Sussex, has severe cerebral palsy, epilepsy and cannot speak.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust admitted liability in 2011.
