Gaming tech shows risk of using phones behind the wheel

Police are using gaming technology to simulate the hazards of driving while texting on a mobile phone.

Central Motorway Police Group in the West Midlands has fitted a car with the equipment and is inviting motorists to see for themselves how dangerous it can be.

It marks the start of a nationwide police campaign to clamp down on the illegal use of phones behind the wheel.

BBC reporter Joanne Writtle was among the first to try out the simulator.
